Our client, a leading UK fire and security systems company, is looking for a hands-on IT & Networking Engineer to support the IP and network infrastructure that underpins their fire and security systems. This is a practical, delivery focused role working at the heart of modern, integrated security environments.
You will play a key role in enabling the successful installation, commissioning, and operation of networked security platforms across live commercial and construction sites, supporting CCTV, access control, intercom and integrated systems.
The Role
You will work closely with installation, commissioning and service engineers to ensure systems are correctly configured, integrated and ready for handover. This role does not carry physical installation responsibility or service escalation ownership, but is critical to system stability, performance and integration. As the business and system complexity grows, there is real scope for this role to develop.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and support IP networks for fire and security systems across live sites
- Support integration of CCTV, access control, intercom, and intruder systems into client networks
- Assist engineers with network setup, testing, and system readiness
- Diagnose and resolve network issues (IP conflicts, VLANs, PoE, connectivity faults)
- Support switches, basic firewall configuration, and wireless access points
- Assist with system configuration, firmware updates, and platform setup
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and network records
- Liaise with manufacturers, vendors, and client IT teams
- Work safely and compliantly on live commercial and construction sites
