Role Overview:
The Interim Head of Finance will play a critical role in the operational management of the gallery's finances and governance. Reporting to the Deputy Director, this role involves close collaboration with senior management to deliver the mission and objectives set by the Board of Trustees. This position offers the unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic and financial success of a leading cultural institution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee financial management, ensuring efficiency and adherence to professional standards.
- Lead the Finance Team, managing budgets, forecasts, and statutory accounts.
- Liaise with committees and the Board of Trustees on financial matters.
- Implement robust financial control processes and manage relationships with key financial stakeholders.
- Contribute to staff remuneration, pension scheme management, and recruitment processes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven management skills and significant experience in senior accounting roles.
- A relevant accounting qualification (ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Experience in charity SORP Annual Reports and strong systems development skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of VAT, PAYE, and other relevant taxes.
- Familiarity with the creative/arts sector or charity environment is desirable.
