Assembly & Repair Technician β Temp to Perm Starting Salary: Β£25,486 per annum Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 β 16:00 (8.5-hour days) Annual Leave: 20 days plus bank holidays Parking: On-site parking available Overall Purpose of the Role: The Repair Technician is responsible for accurately assessing and professionally repairing damaged items in accordance with manufacturer and client requirements. This includes identifying if an item is genuine, assessing the extent of repair needed, and ensuring that repairs are completed to agreed standards using genuine parts. This position also acts as a subject matter expert (SME), supporting internal departments including the Call Centre, Warehouse, and Management teams with repair-related queries and updates. The role contributes to cross-departmental operations and ensures full compliance with data protection legislation in all decisions and activities. Key Responsibilities Assess the damage on the item to determine: If the item is genuine Whether a repair is feasible and meets manufacturer/client standards The type and scope of repairs required Carry out repairs to manufacturer and client specifications using approved materials and methods Act as a repair SME for internal teams and management Communicate stock levels and part requirements to Workshop Supervisors Use only genuine parts and methods to maintain repair integrity Ensure the correct packaging and dispatch of repaired items to stores or customers Follow up on outstanding repairs awaiting parts Assist in \βBooking In\β processes and other operational tasks as required Provide accurate reporting on service failures or supplier issues Complete accurate QC documentation and meet internal KPIs Communication Requirements: Internal: Collaborate with peers in the Workshop team to maintain effective working relationships and escalate issues appropriately Work closely with the Call Centre to provide clear and timely information to support customer claim resolutions Share dispatch and product information with the Warehouse to ensure correct and timely deliveries External: Liaise with private customers to communicate realistic repair expectations and timeframes Work with manufacturers to meet changing service needs and contract standards Negotiate with suppliers to ensure agreed service levels and pricing are upheld, backed by formal documentation Candidate Profile: Essential: Fluent or native-level English β written and spoken Desirable: GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths Previous experience in a workshop, assembly, or repair environment Basic Microsoft Office skills Attributes: Team-focused, with the ability to manage workload independently Methodical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities Adaptable and professional under pressure Able to work in a process-driven environment and contribute to continuous improvement
