Join Our Team at Parkside School! Are you a dedicated and creative practitioner passionate about supporting young people to succeed? Parkside School is seeking an enthusiastic colleague to join our team in the role of Specialist Curriculum Manager. In this essential role, you will coordinate and manage the day to day operation of our Specialist Curriculum provisions. Working closely with the Specialist Curriculum Leader, senior colleagues, parents and multi-agency partners, you will create engaging, experiential and vocational pathways for students who require a different curriculum offer or additional support away from mainstream classes. You will maintain a calm, consistent and supportive environment, helping students build self-esteem, improve behaviour and attendance and successfully re-integrate into mainstream education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provision Management: Manage the day to day running of the Specialist Curriculum provisions, ensuring a calm, consistent and well resourced learning environment.
  • Curriculum & Interventions: Plan, deliver and assess appropriate, engaging and challenging curriculum pathways for students stepped out from mainstream classes.
  • Re-Integration & Attendance: Oversee exit procedures and plan smooth re-integration back into mainstream lessons; complete first day calls and liaise on attendance follow ups.
  • Team Supervision: Line manage and support colleagues involved in the Specialist Curriculum provisions as required.
  • Multi-Agency & Parent Partnership: Build constructive relationships with parents/carers and external agencies to foster strong home school partnerships.
  • Safeguarding & Data Tracking: Maintain accurate pupil records on CPOMS and Arbor, track interventions, serve as part of the safeguarding team and act as a coach for a small group of students.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Experience: Proven track record of working with young people aged 11-16, including those with additional needs / SEMH profiles.
  • Knowledge & Skills: Clear understanding of barriers to learning and strategies to overcome them; strong organisational, communication and report-writing skills; knowledge of safeguarding principles and child protection.
  • Qualifications & Training: GCSE (or equivalent) C/4+ in English and Maths; relevant training for working with young people aged 11-19 and training and/or qualifications which reflect appropriate communication / educational skills e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Personal Attributes: A holistic approach to pupil well being and education, high expectations of all learners, resilience, flexibility and a collaborative team ethos.
