Role
My client is seeking a strategic, commercially-minded Group IT Manager to lead technology strategy, infrastructure and systems across a growing international organisation.
The role will establish a standalone group IT environment, working closely with senior leadership and a third-party consultancy to design and implement the required systems, infrastructure and operating model.
You will balance strategic leadership with hands-on involvement where required, using technology, data and automation to improve operational efficiency, customer experience, scalability and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the group-wide IT strategy and technology roadmap.
- Advise senior leadership on technology investment and business opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology, data and automation.
- Manage and develop geographically distributed IT teams.
- Systems & Infrastructure
- Oversee ERP, CRM, operational management, reporting and data platforms.
- Establish scalable cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Standardise systems, processes and vendors where appropriate.
- Ensure systems support multi-country, multi-currency and multi-entity operations.
- Business Growth & Transformation
- Use technology and data to support business growth and informed decision-making.
- Enable efficient onboarding of new locations and businesses.
- Support acquisitions, IT due diligence and post-acquisition integration.
- Lead major technology projects, implementations and change programmes.
- Build strong relationships with senior leaders and operational teams.
- Translate business requirements into practical technology solutions.
- Manage external technology partners, suppliers and consultants.
- Own IT budgets and ensure strong return on investment.
- Governance & Security
- Maintain appropriate data protection, cybersecurity and IT governance frameworks.
- Ensure compliance across relevant international jurisdictions.
- Develop policies, incident response and business continuity arrangements.
Experience & Skills
- Proven senior IT leadership experience, such as IT Manager, Head of IT or equivalent.
- Experience managing IT across multiple sites, countries or jurisdictions.
- Strong understanding of ERP, CRM, cloud infrastructure and cybersecurity.
- Experience delivering technology-led business transformation and growth.
- Experience managing distributed teams across different time zones.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to link technology decisions to business outcomes.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
- Strong project, change and vendor management capability.
- Comfortable operating in a growing organisation with ambiguity and change.
