I am in a partnership with a well-known pharmaceutical client who are recruiting for a Medical Science Expert (MSE) who has experience of working within Oncology covering the Midlands. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in medical affairs, previous experience in Oncology (ideally GU cancers). The role is being offered on a 12-month fixed term contract starting immediately. We are looking for a passionate and driven individual to be part of a high performing team who has a patient focussed approach who can work cross functionally with ability to build relationships, network and communicate effectively with internal and external teams, HCPs and peers.
Key role responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Therapy Area Specialist (TAS; a similar role to Key Account Manager) to coordinate engagement with HCPs, sharing outcomes of meetings while respecting the compliance boundaries of what cannot be shared (e.g., details of off-label and pipeline discussions).
- Hold the Primary Point of Contact role in specified cases, primarily at pre-launch phase of the product lifecycle for non-promotional activities.
- Independently handle core medical activities, such as medical and scientific information requests, pipeline information, research/study knowledge or enquiries, early access or compassionate use programmes, sponsorship of congress attendance or related enquiries and the management of PSPs.
- Run selected in-field visits to enable execution of medical tactics or to respond to any enquiries from customers relating to products.
- Support clinical trial activities in alignment with Clinical Operations/ICSO.
- Engage with external customers according to their preference e.g. F2F, virtual, email, webinars etc.
- Lead and organise core medical activities.
- Record the outputs of medical interactions, including insights that have been generated and share them appropriately across the local medical and commercial team and share important insights with global medical colleagues.
- Stay up to date on current scientific and clinical literature and the therapeutic landscape related to the relevant disease areas of focus.
- Interact with local stakeholders in the medical community.
- Customer engagement planning and execution.
- Utilise systematic KTL engagement plans.
