We are seeking a dynamic Finance Manager to join a growing business based in Brentford.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making while leading the day-to-day operations of the finance function.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual with a strong accounting background, proven team leadership experience, and a genuine "can-do" attitude.
You will manage a team of five and work closely with senior leadership to drive financial performance, improve processes, and ensure robust financial controls across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and provide insightful analysis of departmental performance.
- Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.
- Manage and oversee weekly payroll processing and client invoicing to meet strict deadlines.
- Oversee supplier payment runs and maintain strong cash management controls.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of VAT, PAYE, CIS and Corporation Tax obligations.
- Manage all bank reconciliations.
- Oversee petty cash, company credit cards and employee expenses.
- Manage the invoice discounting facility.
- Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
- Assist with the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities.
- Assist the Finance Director with the annual external audit process.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including a fleet of company vehicles.
- Maintain Hire Purchase schedules and accurately account for interest payments.
- Produce ad hoc reports and financial analysis for senior management.
- Continuously review and improve financial processes, controls and procedures.
About You
- To be successful in this role, you will have: At least 2 years' experience in a Finance Manager or Financial Controller position.
- Strong team leadership and people management skills.
- Experience managing the month-end and year-end close process.
- Excellent understanding of general ledger accounting and financial controls.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong systems capability.
- Experience using Sage 50 Cloud Accounting (highly desirable). ACCA or CIMA Part Qualified, Finalist or Qualified. Degree educated (desirable).
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to work closely with senior stakeholders.
