An established UK ecology consultancy is seeking an Associate Director of Ecology to lead the creation and growth of a new regional team and office in England. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced ecological consultant who enjoys combining technical excellence with team building and business growth. You will have the autonomy to shape a regional ecology presence while working closely with the wider leadership team.
Key responsibilities:
- Establish and lead a new regional ecology team and office
- Provide senior technical oversight across complex ecological projects
- Deliver and review PEAs, EcIAs, protected species work and BNG assessments
- Support and drive business development activity and client relationships
- Mentor and develop ecologists at all levels
- Contribute to regional strategy, growth and operational excellence
About you:
- Extensive UK ecological consultancy experience
- Strong technical background across planning-led ecology and mitigation
- Proven leadership and people management capability
- Commercially aware, with an interest in business development
- CIEEM member (or working towards), chartered status desirable
