We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Machinist (Turner) to join a well-established precision engineering business in South Ruislip on a temporary basis. This is a hands-on role focused on the setup, operation, and running of CNC turning machines, producing high-quality precision components to tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC turning machines (Mazak experience beneficial but not essential)
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and job specifications
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials
- Monitor machining processes and make adjustments to ensure accuracy and quality
- Carry out quality inspections using measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, CMMs)
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with H&S standards
- Work to production schedules and meet delivery deadlines
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a CNC machining / turning role
- Strong understanding of machining processes and tolerances
- Confident reading engineering drawings
- Experience using precision measuring equipment
- Knowledge of Mazatrol or other CNC programming languages advantageous
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Hours
Monday to Friday: 07:30 – 15:48, 39 hours per week. Includes lunch and rest breaks.
