This is a hands-on operational role where you will take responsibility for ensuring projects move smoothly from order through to production and installation. You will oversee a Planner and coordinate the different stages of each project, ensuring materials are available, production is on schedule and installations are planned effectively. Previous double-glazing experience is NOT essential. However, experience within construction, manufacturing, building products, installations or a similar project-led environment would be highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operational workflow across multiple customer projects
  • Manage and support 1 Planner, ensuring workloads and priorities are effectively managed
  • Oversee the planning and scheduling of customer installations
  • Ensure installation dates are pre-planned and scheduled efficiently
  • Coordinate with production to ensure orders are manufactured in line with required deadlines
  • Ensure glass and other required materials are ordered in time for production and installation
  • Monitor orders throughout the process and identify potential delays before they impact customers
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding materials, lead times and deliveries
  • Coordinate between the planning, production and installation functions
  • Ensure installers have the correct information and materials available for scheduled jobs
  • Manage changing priorities and resolve operational issues quickly
  • Maintain clear and accurate schedules
  • Improve processes and efficiencies across the operation
  • Ensure deadlines and customer commitments are consistently achieved
  • Provide operational updates to senior management
  • Take ownership of problems and ensure they are followed through to resolution

About You

  • Previous experience within Operations, Production Management, Installation Management, Project Management or similar
  • Experience within construction, manufacturing, building products, windows/doors, kitchens, bathrooms, interiors or another installation-led environment would be advantageous
  • No previous double-glazing experience is required
  • Strong planning and scheduling experience
  • Confident managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Experience overseeing or managing a small team
  • Comfortable liaising with suppliers, production teams and installers
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to react quickly when plans change
  • Confident using IT systems, spreadsheets and scheduling/planning software
  • A proactive, hands-on approach – someone who takes ownership rather than waiting for issues to be escalated

What’s on Offer

  • £32,000 – £35,000 salary depending on experience
  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Free on-site parking
  • Established and growing business
  • Varied, hands-on Operations Manager position
