At Glendale, we have a great new opportunity for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team working on a variety of sites across the region. The Opportunity

  • Full Time 40 Hours per week - (Annualised Hours Summer: 07:00 – 16:30, Winter: 07:00 – 14:30)
  • £12.21 per hour
  • Work outdoors and contribute to the maintenance of open spaces and the care of green spaces.
  • Duties will include hedge trimming, clearing leaves, shrub bed maintenance, sweeping, garden clearance and litter as required.

The Person

  • The ideal candidate must be keen to learn, enjoy a challenge, be honest, hardworking, reliable and personable and have a keen interest in horticulture.

  • Previous knowledge of Grounds Maintenance skills and horticulture are desirable, however training will be provided.
  • Previous experience of handheld machinery is desirable.
  • Must be proficient in operating walk-behind and ride-on grass mowers, strimmers, blowers, and petrol-driven hedge cutters.
  • Operative must hold a full, clean UK driving license.
  • Reliable and conscientious with a can-do attitude.
  • A willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work on one’s own initiative.
  • Previous experience of grounds maintenance work, horticultural tasks.
  • Willingness to undertake police accreditation and DBS reference check.
  • Must be able to drive, ideally have a full, clean driving licence.
  • PA1 & PA6 preferred but not essential.
  • Willingness to comply with clients' strict health and safety requirements.
  • Applicants must be reliable and conscientious and will be required to work on their own initiative.
