The Role
Glendale Managed Services is recruiting a Contract Manager to lead a major new grounds maintenance contract in Merton commencing in November 2026. This is a strategic contract covering horticultural maintenance, infrastructure and cemetery management across the borough.
You will report directly to the Regional Director and hold full operational and financial accountability for the contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the daily operational activity of the Service Delivery Team.
- Manage financial reporting, budget setting and productivity.
- Oversee the cemetery administration team and ensure strict compliance with ICCM standards.
- Manage the operational delivery of burial services and memorial safety programmes.
- Enforce strict health and safety protocols and maintain QHSE standards.
- Drive continuous improvement to secure Green Flag awards and high industry rankings.
The Person
We need a critical thinker with at least 3 years of management experience in the grounds maintenance sector.
- NVQ Level 3 in horticulture or equivalent sector experience.
- Full driving licence.
- Strong financial planning and commercial acumen.
- Competent IT skills including Google Workspace and field management systems.
- Proven ability to manage staff and build effective relationships with clients and community groups.
