We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to be a valued member of parkrun’s Digital and Data team, playing a pivotal role in shaping the digital platforms that support millions of participants and volunteers every week. The focus of the platform engineering function at parkrun is to deliver reliable, scalable and efficient digital systems that underpin event delivery, websites, databases, APIs and the parkrun app.
The Senior Platform Engineer will lead and contribute to the modernisation of backend infrastructure and services, driving improvements through transformation and the adoption of DevOps best practices. Working with a strong focus on reliability, performance and continuous improvement, the role will help mature software development processes and strengthen the resilience of our technology ecosystem.
With a proactive mindset and a passion for thinking differently, the Senior Platform Engineer will be a key force behind evolving and modernising parkrun’s technical infrastructure. This senior level role will also contribute to shaping the wider engineering team, sharing expertise, providing leadership, and helping ensure parkrun’s technology continues to support its mission to make the world a healthier, happier place.
