Job Type: Part-time. Duration: Permanent. Schedule: 5 days a week (rotational shift basis that includes weekends). Shift: 12:00 - 16:00. Hourly Rate: £13.00.

We are looking for a reliable and proactive Maintenance Assistant who is dedicated to making every moment count. The successful applicant will help ensure the care home is safe, well-maintained, and operating efficiently, contributing to the comfort and wellbeing of our residents.

Previous experience in a maintenance or handyman role (preferably in a care home or similar setting) is beneficial along with knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general repair work.

The Role:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
  • Conduct regular checks on safety systems, including fire alarms and emergency lighting.
  • Carry out painting, decorating, and general upkeep of the building and grounds.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and infection control procedures.
  • Assist with setting up rooms, moving furniture, and assembling equipment as required.
  • Work collaboratively with the care team to promptly address any maintenance issues.
  • Maintain records of maintenance work and report any significant issues to management.
  • Liaise with external contractors and suppliers when necessary.
