Elevation Recruitment Group's Tech & Transformation division are supporting a well-established organisation in Leeds, who is looking for a Network Security Architect to design secure, scalable application and network architectures that can withstand today's most sophisticated threats. You'll influence technology decisions, set long-term standards, and work closely with CTO teams, security leaders, engineers, and regulators to make a real difference.
Duties & Responsibilities of the Network Security Architect:
- Leading the design of secure, scalable application and network architectures
- Owning reference patterns that drive best practice across the organisation
- Defining segmentation strategies, security controls, and migration pathways
- Presenting and defending your designs at senior architecture forums
- Partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance, robustness, and delivery success
- Providing technical thought leadership across multiple programmes
- Strengthening the organisation's security posture across both modern and legacy estates
Key Skills & Experience required:
- Strong foundation in application architecture (patterns, standards, designs)
- Software development background with deep network security knowledge
- Proven experience blending application and network security architecture
- Experience in financial services or other regulated industries
- Ability to produce high-quality architectural documentation
- Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and regulatory bodies
- Familiarity with NIST, SANS, ITU frameworks
- Experience in threat modelling, risk assessment, and audit engagement
Technical areas you'll influence:
- Application security & secure SDLC
- Network/app segmentation & micro-segmentation
- Zone-based architectures and secure legacy migration
- WAAP, NGFW, NIDS/NIPS, DDoS protection
- API gateways, reverse proxies, AuthN/AuthZ
- Architecture modelling tools (BizzDesign, Archi, UML)
- Working across hybrid legacy and modern networking landscapes
Preferred qualifications:
- Degrees in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields
- Architecture certifications such as SABSA or TOGAF
- Security certifications (e.g., CEH)
