Elevation Recruitment Group are supporting a complex, multi-entity Financial Services organisation to appoint an experienced Interim External Reporting Consultant on an interim basis. This requirement sits within the Group Financial Reporting function during a critical period of year-end delivery, audit activity and ongoing investor reporting.
The Role
Working within a highly experienced and collaborative reporting team, you will take ownership of statutory reporting and group external reporting across multiple entities. The function has recently completed a significant period of remediation work and process improvement and now requires a technically strong, hands-on interim who can add capacity, challenge outputs and ensure deadlines are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Own delivery of Group external reporting and entity statutory accounts (UK & international)
- Produce, review and roll forward statutory reporting packs and supporting schedules
- Support Group IFRS reporting and consolidation activities
- Deliver quarterly financial information for investors and other external partners
- Oversee accounting treatment of portfolio investments
- Prepare and review cashflow statements and supporting disclosures
- Support external audit processes and maintain effective auditor relationships
- Prepare Audit Committee papers and supporting analysis
- Review and challenge financial data received from upstream finance teams
- Standardise and improve reporting templates, documentation and controls
- Operate effectively within a peer-review, flat team structure
Candidate Profile
We are keen to engage experienced interim professionals who:
- Have demonstrable experience in external reporting, statutory accounts and group reporting
- Have operated in complex, multi-entity or regulated environments (Financial Services advantageous)
- Are confident working with imperfect data and applying sound accounting judgement
- Are highly proficient in Excel and comfortable building and reviewing detailed reporting packs
- Can work at pace and deliver to tight reporting deadlines
- Are hands-on, detail-orientated and proactive in identifying issues
Big 4 training, plc or large-group reporting experience would be beneficial but not essential.
