Parkinson Gray Associates is recruiting for an experienced Gas Compliance Manager to join an established building services business operating across a varied commercial property portfolio.
This is a senior compliance-focused position with responsibility for ensuring gas-related works are undertaken safely, correctly and in accordance with current legislation, industry standards and company procedures.
The successful candidate is likely to come from a strong commercial gas background and will combine technical knowledge with the ability to oversee engineers, assess standards of work and maintain robust compliance processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee gas compliance across a portfolio of commercial sites and projects.
- Ensure gas works are carried out in accordance with current legislation and recognised industry standards.
- Monitor the competence and performance of directly employed engineers and specialist subcontractors.
- Carry out or coordinate technical audits and inspections.
- Maintain appropriate compliance records, certification and audit trails.
- Review working practices and identify areas requiring corrective action or improvement.
- Provide technical guidance to operational teams and engineers.
- Support the investigation and resolution of gas-related technical or compliance issues.
- Work closely with Health & Safety, operational and project teams.
- Ensure remedial actions arising from audits or inspections are completed appropriately.
- Keep up to date with changes to relevant gas regulations, standards and industry guidance.
- The Successful Candidate
We would expect applicants to have
- A strong background in commercial gas installation, servicing or maintenance.
- Detailed knowledge of gas safety requirements and relevant legislation.
- Experience in a supervisory, compliance, technical management or auditing capacity.
- Good understanding of commercial heating and associated mechanical building services.
- Strong attention to detail and record keeping.
- The confidence to challenge unsafe or non-compliant working practices.
