We are working with an established and highly regarded Building Services contractor to recruit an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator.

This is a key appointment within the business, suited to an experienced Electrical Estimator with a strong background in the M&E contracting sector.

You will take responsibility for producing competitive and commercially robust tenders across a varied portfolio of projects, including major multi-million-pound schemes.

The Role

Working closely with the Pre-Construction and Commercial teams, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing detailed electrical estimates and tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
  • Producing accurate material and labour take-offs.
  • Obtaining and evaluating quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Identifying potential commercial risks and opportunities within tender documentation.
  • Preparing detailed cost plans and tender summaries.
  • Attending pre-tender and post-tender meetings where required.
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Working closely with operational teams to ensure an effective handover following successful tenders.
  • Supporting value engineering exercises and alternative technical solutions.
  • Managing multiple tenders simultaneously and ensuring submissions are completed within agreed timescales.
  • The Candidate

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator with a strong understanding of electrical building services installations.

You should have

  • Previous estimating experience within an M&E or Building Services contractor.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical building services, including LV distribution, lighting, power, containment and associated systems.
  • Experience pricing projects from drawings, specifications and schedules.
  • A good understanding of labour, material and subcontract costs.
  • Experience tendering projects within the commercial, industrial, education, healthcare or similar sectors.
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage your own workload and work effectively to tender deadlines.
