As a result of continued success, our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to join their team in engaging and challenging projects.
Location: Manchester (City Centre)
Salary: £50,000 to £60,000 (depending on experience)

Purpose of the Role:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, it is essential to position yourself as a leading figure in the team by demonstrating your technical skills and leveraging your leadership and mentoring abilities to support the growth of junior engineers while enhancing customer relationships. You will be responsible for managing projects to ensure efficient use of resources and timely delivery. Additionally, you must regularly update the senior leadership team on project status, significant issues, and progress throughout the project lifecycle. In this senior role, staying up-to-date with the latest technical standards related to MEP design across various industries is vital, along with effectively communicating these standards' requirements to clients and colleagues during meetings and in written communication. While you will typically receive support from the wider team, you are expected to work independently at a senior level and take the lead on all mechanical aspects of projects as necessary.
Role and responsibilities:
- Provide outstanding designs via a comprehensive HVAC and PH package.
- Provide mentorship, guidance and supervision to junior engineers and technicians.
- Facilitate Professional Development and maintain records under CIBSE/IMechE standards.
- Conduct thorough site investigations, carry out inspections, pinpoint challenges, and develop solutions.
- Prepare technical specifications for completed projects.
- Assist clients with tender evaluations.
- Communicate and collaborate confidently with team members, clients, and other construction professionals on projects.
- Act as the company's representative during design team meetings with clients and construction colleagues.
- Demonstrate commercial acumen in your position by identifying changes or opportunities in projects through client discussions and by providing follow-ups either directly or via the senior leadership team.
- Understand the concepts behind the BREEAM and LEED sustainability accreditation programs.
- Provide support with project commissioning as needed to ensure alignment with design intent.
- Software Expertise: Demonstrates proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and the Building Information Modeling (BIM) environment.
- Possessing experience with MagiCAD. Demonstrating foundational knowledge of the IES Virtual Environment for the purpose of report evaluation.
