Due to continued growth within the Strategic Asset Management Team, they are seeking to hire an Asset Management Consultant with a strong MEP/Building Services background to join the Leeds office.
The Role
You will support the delivery of strategic asset management and technical consultancy services across a varied portfolio including healthcare, education, commercial and public sector estates. The role will focus on the assessment, performance and lifecycle management of mechanical, electrical and public health building services systems.
Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will help clients make informed investment decisions, improve estate performance and support long-term capital planning strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake MEP asset condition surveys and technical due diligence assessments across operational estates
- Prepare lifecycle replacement strategies and forward maintenance plans
- Develop asset registers and support asset information modelling initiatives
- Carry out plant and infrastructure reviews for mechanical and electrical systems
- Analyse asset performance, reliability and compliance risks
- Support the development of investment profiles and capital expenditure programmes
- Assist clients with statutory compliance and asset management best practice
- Contribute to CAFM, BIM and ISO 19650 aligned asset information processes
- Prepare technical reports, presentations and client recommendations
- Collaborate with engineering design teams to support whole-life asset strategies
- Participate in client meetings, stakeholder engagement and project workshops
- Support business development activities and identify opportunities for service growth
Requirements
Essential
- Degree or HNC/HND qualified in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Experience within building services consultancy, FM consultancy, estates engineering or asset management
- Strong understanding of MEP systems and infrastructure within operational buildings
- Knowledge of lifecycle costing, condition surveying and planned maintenance principles
- Familiarity with healthcare, education or large-scale commercial estates environments
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and asset management/data analysis tools
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites
Desirable
- Chartered or working toward Chartership (CIBSE, IET, IWFM or similar)
- Knowledge of ISO 55001 asset management principles
- Experience using CAFM systems and digital asset platforms
- Understanding of Net Zero Carbon strategies and estate decarbonisation
- Experience producing technical surveys and engineering audits
- Familiarity with HTM guidance, SFG20 or NHS estate standards
