About the Company
Our Client is a multi‑disciplinary consulting engineering practice specialising in mechanical and electrical services, with a strong focus on sustainability, innovation and low‑carbon design.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction and technical leadership across all MEP engineering services.
- Oversee the design and delivery of MEP systems on a wide range of building projects.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, industry standards and best‑practice guidelines.
- Lead and mentor the team with a firm “inward focus”.
- Undertake technical reviews and sign‑off of design documentation.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and design partners.
- Support the Directors in their efforts to secure new and repeat business opportunities.
- Contribute to the company’s overall strategic planning and direction as a key member of the leadership team.
- Promote a culture of innovation, sustainability and continuous improvement.
- Stay current with technological advances, regulations and industry trends.
Required Skills and Experience
- Degree‑qualified in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Extensive MEP experience within a design environment.
- Experience in sustainable and low‑carbon building design.
- Proven experience in a senior leadership or director‑level role.
- Strong technical knowledge across both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and grow high‑performing teams.
- Strong commercial awareness, resource management and project delivery skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and client‑facing skills.
- Proficient in the use of relevant design software and BIM workflows.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng) and membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. CIBSE, IMechE, IET).
- Business development or client relationship management experience.
- Working knowledge of BREEAM, WELL, NABERS, etc.
