A major national building services contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Planner to support the delivery of mechanical and electrical projects across its Yorkshire region. This is a key permanent appointment and would suit someone with strong construction planning experience, ideally gained directly within the M&E / building services sector. However, the company would also consider someone from a main contracting background, provided they have strong MEP knowledge and a good understanding of building services sequencing, coordination and delivery.

The role is designed to bring planning capability in-house, supporting project teams with robust programmes, sequencing, progress reporting and delivery strategy. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, commercial teams and clients to ensure projects are properly planned, monitored and delivered. You will be involved from pre-construction through to live project delivery, helping to identify risk, manage change and keep programmes realistic, accurate and commercially useful.

The company delivers building services projects across a range of sectors, so the ability to understand construction sequencing, M&E installation, commissioning and client reporting will be important.

Candidate Requirements

  • Planning experience within construction, M&E or building services
  • Strong MEP knowledge, either from a building services contractor or main contractor
  • Experience using Asta Powerproject, Primavera P6 or MS Project
  • Good understanding of sequencing, progress reporting and programme risk
  • Ability to work closely with project teams, clients and senior management
  • Comfortable supporting projects from pre-construction through to completion

This is an excellent opportunity for a Planner who wants a long-term permanent role with a major national building services contractor, supporting projects across Yorkshire. Package includes a basic salary of £65,000 – £85,000, plus car / car allowance and company benefits.
