For over 20 years, our client has been providing first-class MEP design and installation solutions to the building services industry. Our client is one of the UK's leading independent MEP Consulting Engineers, with 3 strategically placed offices across the north of England. Founded in 2010, our client is an independently owned multidisciplinary design consultancy committed to quality, innovation, and engineering excellence. They specialize in Mechanical, Electrical, Public Health, and Sustainability services.

As a traditional M&E Design and Build contractor, the company has built a strong reputation within the leisure and industrial sectors for delivering commercially sound projects, embracing renewable technologies, and ensuring energy-efficient installations are completed on time and within budget. Mechanical and electrical systems must be fit for purpose and properly maintained after handover.

The demand for preconstruction design services continues to grow, alongside the need to create leaner, greener buildings aligned with NetZero strategies and decarbonisation targets. Design services include, but are not limited to:

  • MEP Concept and Feasibility Service
  • MEP Cost Analysis and Advice (Project Budgets)
  • DNO Applications and Load Assessments
  • External Lighting Planning Service (Planning Conditions)
  • MEP Energy and Sustainability Support
  • Building Regulations Performance and Compliance Service
  • Renewable Energy Design and Specification

While many live schemes are fully designed in-house, there is still a need to outsource to trusted MEP Consultants occasionally. Moving forward, the aim is to keep all design in-house, and recruiting a Lead Mechanical HVAC Design Engineer is key to achieving this. The ideal candidate will be a commercially astute, seasoned HVAC Design Engineer, experienced in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning design across various buildings and environments.

Applications are invited from Senior/Principal Mechanical Building Services Engineers who can demonstrate project leadership and provide a flexible, client-facing service. The Engineer will be expected to offer creative, technically appropriate solutions to end users, developers, and contractors, gaining trust while clearly outlining what is feasible and realistic. Familiarity with industry-standard software for calculations and modeling would be advantageous.

As the company continues to grow and offer career development opportunities, the Lead Mechanical Engineer role presents a promising path for advancement.
