The Leeds and Manchester offices work closely together, collaborating on a range of projects with a focus on northern based schemes. The Leeds team is actively seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Associate to join the MEP division. This role is ideal for a seasoned Electrical Building Services Engineer looking to further their career within operational and resource management, whilst supporting business development and driving technical excellence.
This important role within the management team will require strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and the ability to manage complex projects from concept through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the design and development of electrical systems for a wide variety of commercial and infrastructure projects
- Manage and mentor a team of electrical engineers and technicians
- Take ownership of project deliverables, ensuring designs meet client specifications, budgets, and timelines
- Produce and review detailed electrical designs, drawings, specifications, and calculations
- Oversee load assessments, cable sizing, protection coordination, and system integration
- Ensure compliance with UK standards, including BS 7671 and relevant health & safety regulations
- Act as the key technical point of contact for clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and commissioning activities as required
- Travel regularly to the Manchester office to support cross-site collaboration and project delivery
- Contribute to continuous improvement, innovation, and best practice within the engineering team
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience in electrical design within commercial building services
- Strong knowledge of UK electrical standards and regulations (e.g., BS 7671)
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical calculation tools
- Demonstrated experience leading projects and managing engineering teams
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between Leeds and Manchester
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it (e.g., via IET or similar body)
- Experience with LV/HV systems and energy-efficient design solutions
- Familiarity with BIM processes and multidisciplinary coordination
- Previous consultancy or design office experience
