Our client is an independently owned environmental building services engineering consultancy that has been successfully operating for more than 40 years. Its portfolio includes award-winning examples of sustainable design and a diverse mix of beautifully designed buildings.
The team continued to establish its expertise within its key sectors: offices, residential, mixed use, stadia & leisure, education, and industrial & logistics, and continued to work on larger and more complex projects. Due to ongoing growth and newly secured projects, they are seeking to expand the MEP Team and are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join them.
Location: Manchester
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 depending on experience and skills

Purpose of the Role: This role involves working as part of the MEP engineering team to design and deliver projects across various sectors. The aim is to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions that really work for the clients and are beautifully integrated with the architecture and structure. You will interact with all design disciplines and specialists to identify customer requirements and provide engineering solutions that meet customer expectations and budgets. You will work with an experienced team that will help you grow professionally, assisting in the implementation of this crucial element of our engineering solutions for creating an artificial environment. This is a great opportunity for the right person to get a fantastic experience to be able to deliver net zero carbon and energy designs.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of UK building services experience
- Holding a relevant degree or equivalent experience/qualifications in Electrical engineering or building services
- Chartered Member of the IETCEng accredited or working towards.
- Familiarity with Building Regulations requirements for energy conservation and low carbon technologies
- Detailed understanding of electrical design
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Amtech.
- A solid desire to communicate and work collaboratively with others.
- Confident in handling new or unfamiliar technical issues and independently generating and developing ideas.
- Comfortable discussing electrical design principles with your peers, clients, and collaborators.
- Previous experience working as an Electrical Design Engineer in the UK M&E Design consultancy or Design and Build contractor.
