Our Client is one of the fastest growing and leading MEP Consulting Engineers in Leeds. The building services design team has a fantastic mix of work from complex detailed design schemes through to energy advice, utility and infrastructure design, surveys and feasibility studies.
This is an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join a respected building services consultancy where engineers are encouraged to contribute ideas, develop their technical expertise, and play a key role in delivering high-quality low-carbon building solutions.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are now looking to recruit an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join their collaborative MEP team. Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (depending on experience and skills)

Purpose of the Role
This role involves working as part of one of the multi-disciplinary MEP engineering groups to design and deliver projects across a range of sectors. The aim is to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions that work effectively for clients and integrate seamlessly with the architectural and structural design.
You will interact with multiple design disciplines and specialists to identify project requirements and provide engineering solutions that meet both client expectations and project budgets. Working alongside an experienced team of engineers, you will gain valuable exposure to technically interesting projects while developing your skills and contributing to the delivery of sustainable building solutions. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience in low-carbon and energy-efficient building design, supporting the transition towards net-zero developments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing electrical building services systems across a variety of sectors
- Supporting projects across multiple RIBA stages
- Collaborating with architects, clients and wider design teams
- Undertaking site visits and technical reviews during construction
- Contributing to technical discussions and project meetings
- Supporting and mentoring graduate engineers as your experience develops

Essential Skills and Experience
- Minimum 3/4 years’ experience within a UK building services consultancy
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or similar)
- Experience using AutoCAD, Revit and Amtech / electrical design software
- Good understanding of electrical systems within building design
- Familiarity with CDM Regulations and designer responsibilities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to approach technical challenges with initiative and problem-solving ability
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage workload and deadlines effectively
- Comfortable discussing technical concepts with colleagues, clients and project teams
