Our client is a well-respected building services engineering consultancy providing high-quality MEP and Infrastructure design solutions across a range of sectors. The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.

As the organisation continues to grow organically through regular repeat business which offers a strong platform to expand, the company is keen to appoint a technically capable Electrical Design Engineer to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, coordination, and delivery of electrical building services systems across a variety of projects, working closely with developers, contractors and architects.

  • Design electrical building services systems including power, lighting, fire alarms, data, security, and renewables
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards, Building Regulations, and industry best practice
  • Coordinate designs with mechanical, Revit and sustainability specialists
  • Attend client meetings, design team meetings, and site visits as required
  • Support project delivery from concept through to completion
  • Respond to site queries and provide technical support during construction phases

Qualifications:

  • HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
  • Experience working within a building services environment
  • Sound knowledge of electrical systems design for commercial projects
  • Familiarity with software such as Dialux, Relux, Amtech, along with AutoCAD (Revit experience desirable)
  • Ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines
  • Experience with sustainable design, low-carbon technologies, or renewable systems
  • Site experience and understanding of construction processes
