Parkinson Gray Associates are the leading Yorkshire-based building services recruiters. As part of our clients' plans for expansion, we have been engaged to assist them with their recruiting for an Electrical Project Manager. Our client is a long-standing Yorkshire-based MEP consultancy and contracting business. Based on sustainability and renewables, they assist large-scale national clients with their energy efficiency and sustainability projects.
They are looking for an Electrical Project Manager to join the team. Whilst we are calling this role an 'Electrical Project Manager', it is very different from a traditional building services project management role. We do need a candidate with all the commercial awareness that an electrical project manager within an MEP contractor has, but really, most of your time will be spent consulting with your clients.
You will liaise with their long-term client base on energy efficiency. In close consultation with them, you will help them assess their energy use, suggest where improvements can be made, recommend products (voltage optimisation, solar, LED etc.), oversee installations, and monitor resulting energy efficiency. Office-based but with frequent client visits, you will work with a small but dedicated team but also on your own initiative.
This is a really interesting role for an experienced electrical building services professional with a passion for renewable energy/sustainability. Whilst experience with solar, heat pumps, LED lighting, voltage optimisation, etc., would be a distinct advantage, what is more important is the work ethic and mindset of the successful candidate. We are looking for a 'can do' attitude and a real drive to deliver excellence on behalf of clients, assisting them with their energy efficiency within a sector that is only going to increase in importance within building services.
