Mechanical Estimator Location: West Yorkshire Salary: Competitive salary + package An established and growing Mechanical Building Services contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join its team based in West Yorkshire. The business delivers a range of mechanical building services projects and is looking for an Estimator capable of taking responsibility for tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission. The Role Working closely with the senior management and operational teams, you will be responsible for producing accurate and commercially competitive estimates for mechanical building services projects. Your responsibilities will include: * Reviewing tender documentation, drawings and specifications * Producing detailed mechanical estimates and cost plans * Undertaking material and labour take-offs * Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations * Identifying potential commercial and technical risks * Preparing tender submissions and supporting documentation * Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors * Attending tender review and handover meetings * Working with the delivery team to ensure a smooth transition from tender stage into construction * Maintaining accurate records of pricing information and tender activity The Candidate We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Estimator with a strong background in the building services sector. You should have: * Previous experience estimating mechanical building services projects * Good knowledge of HVAC, heating, ventilation, domestic water and associated mechanical services * The ability to interpret drawings, specifications and tender documentation * A sound understanding of labour, material and subcontract costs * Strong commercial awareness * Good communication and organisational skills * The ability to manage multiple tenders and work to deadlines This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established mechanical contractor offering a stable working environment and the opportunity to become an important part of its pre-construction team
