Our client is a well-established M&E building services contractor with a current turnover of approximately £4m, delivering D&B projects across the region. Following a recent acquisition, the business is entering an exciting period of planned growth, with turnover expected to increase to around £10m. As part of this expansion, they are looking to appoint an M&E Project Manager with an electrical bias to support the delivery of a growing portfolio of building services projects. The role will be primarily office-based, with regular site visits as required.
Role Overview
This is a hands-on Project Manager position where you will take responsibility for the full lifecycle delivery of M&E projects, with a particular emphasis on electrical services. Projects are typically within the £500k to £1m range and will require close coordination of commercial, technical and operational elements from pre-start through to final handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage M&E projects from inception through to completion
- Take overall responsibility for project delivery, programme and coordination
- Review projects against estimate prior to start on site
- Oversee procurement and buying of materials and subcontract packages
- Manage programme, site progress and client expectations
- Ensure compliance with H&S requirements throughout delivery
- Oversee valuations, variations and final account input
- Coordinate handover and close-out documentation
- Support estimating activities during peak workload periods where required
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in delivering M&E or electrical building services projects
- Strong electrical knowledge, with the ability to oversee full M&E project delivery
- Background within M&E contracting / building services
- Commercially aware and capable of managing variations and project costs
- Organised, adaptable and comfortable working within a small, growing team
- Able to attend site visits as required
- This role could suit either an experienced Project Manager or an ambitious engineer ready to step up
