The Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in PHP (Laravel) and experience in front-end technologies such as VueJS, Typescript, and Nuxt, you will be part of an innovative team developing and expanding upon a high traffic product for the parking industry.
How to make an impact
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, product managers, and quality assurance, to gather requirements and design, develop, and implement features in PHP (Laravel) and VueJS (Nuxt).
- Write unit and integration tests using TDD best practices to ensure the reliability and stability of the code.
- Optimise and maintain databases, including MySQL, for efficient performance.
- Use Docker to deploy and manage application services in a scalable and containerized environment.
- Utilise AWS services for building and deploying application services in a cloud-based environment.
- Participate in CI/CD processes, including automated build, test, and deployment pipelines, to ensure smooth and efficient software delivery.
- Use Git for version control and collaborate with other team members to ensure effective code management.
- Collaborate with other backend engineers to identify, manage and prioritise tech-debt.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, and proactively suggest improvements to our technology stack.
Your background
- Strong experience in PHP (8.4) and Laravel (12) development, with a deep understanding of respective concepts and best practices.
- Experience with VueJS, Nuxt, and Typescript.
- Familiarity with developing performant and fault-tolerant APIs.
- Proficiency in designing and maintaining MySQL databases.
- Experience with Docker for containerization and deployment of application services.
- Knowledge and experience with the core AWS services (ECS, EC2, S3, SQS).
- Proficient in using Git for version control.
- Strong expertise in CI/CD processes, including automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.
