Are you ready to transform the way people park and move with innovative, tech-driven solutions? At APCOA, we are redefining urban mobility. We are looking for a Product Owner to bridge the gap between complex business requirements and execution. In this hands-on role, you won’t just manage a backlog; you will visualise solutions, translate stakeholder needs into precise specifications, and drive the delivery of our transaction systems, booking engines, and mobile interfaces.
You will be the linchpin between our business stakeholders and our development teams. Your primary focus will be managing and optimising our core transactional systems—ensuring real-time availability, seamless payment processing, and intuitive user interfaces. You will take a high-level request, sketch it out visually, and break it down into granular, actionable tickets that our engineers can build without ambiguity.
Key Responsibilities- Backlog Management in Azure DevOps: Own the product backlog within Azure DevOps. You will create accurate, detailed, and sound user stories and acceptance criteria that leave no room for interpretation.
- Requirements Translation: Act as the primary translator between business stakeholders and the Engineering team. You will gather high-level requirements and convert them into clear and defined workflows and developer-ready specifications.
- Visual Prototyping: Bring requirements to life before development begins. You will create wireframes, mock-ups, and process flows using tools like Figma, Balsamiq, or similar alternatives to guide the UI/UX direction.
- Feature Delivery: Oversee the end-to-end execution of key features—from mobile app updates to parking space sensor integration—ensuring they meet both user needs and business goals.
- Technical Feasibility & Quality: Collaborate closely with the Engineering Team to ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible, performant, and compliant with security standards.
- Data-Driven Improvement: Analyse system data and user feedback to recommend continuous improvements to the platform.
- Experience: 3+ years in Product Ownership, ideally within consumer-facing or transactional sectors.
- Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to manage stakeholders, manage expectations, and translate their vision into reality.
- Tooling Proficiency: Strong expertise in Azure DevOps (ADO) for backlog management and ticket creation. Experience with design/prototyping tools (Figma, Balsamiq, etc.) to create visual requirements.
- Agile Methodology: Deep understanding of Agile frameworks and ceremonies.
- Problem Solving: A track record of prioritising tasks based on business value and complexity to deliver maximum impact.
Why Join APCOA? We’re revolutionising the parking industry, and you will play a key part in shaping its future.
- Impact: You’ll be at the forefront of delivering solutions that make parking smarter and more efficient for millions of users.
- Innovation: Work with a team where your ideas on design and functionality truly matter.
- Growth: We are committed to your development, offering opportunities to expand your skillset and career trajectory.
- Tech Stack: Get hands-on experience with the latest tools and methodologies in a forward-thinking organisation.
We offer a competitive package designed to reward your expertise and commitment. As well as being remote based this role also offers:
- Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum (DOE)
- Bonus: Discretionary bonus recognising your contribution.
- Pension: Comprehensive plan.
- Healthcare: Private healthcare for peace of mind.
- Leave: A fantastic 25 days annual leave plus 8 days Bank holidays.
APCOA is a fair place to work regardless of age, race, gender, sexuality, or level in the organisation. We foster an atmosphere of reinforcement and provide the development opportunities you need to fulfil your potential.
