THE BRAND

Murci was launched in 2021 inspired by luxury fashion houses, and was created with the idea of designing in-house exclusive styles, but at an affordable price. Every product is created by our in-house design team, paying close attention to every detail, resulting in truly original pieces.

THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Senior Womenswear Designer to join our expanding team. You will work closely with the Creative Director and collaborate with the design and production teams to create innovative, high-quality collections that align with our brand identity. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and highly skilled designer with a proven track record in the womenswear market.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the Creative Director and Design Team to conceptualise and deliver each collection from concept to launch, ensuring all timescales are adhered to.
  • Design distinctive, "on brand" womenswear across multi product categories that is highly creative, detail-oriented and commercial.
  • Cross collaboration within the design environment, demonstrating strong teamwork skills, while also showing the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Collaboration with garment techs and PD to create technical design packs and ensure all garments meet the highest standards of quality and fit.
  • Attendance at regular fit sessions, working with the technical team to convey design vision and build ranges
  • Some international travel to factories and fabric shows maybe required.

THE SKILLS

  • Self-led in trend direction, very knowledgable and understanding of ‘high’ fashion trends, ‘underground street styles’ and wider ‘cultural movements’, must be shown and reported.
  • Expertise in print design and print concept is preferable.
  • The ability to contribute confidently and constructively during design direction meetings, offering fresh ideas and newness to the team.
  • Confident in CAD illustration and technical packs.
  • Strong technical knowledge of a wide variety of fabrics and construction methods is essential, knowledge of knitwear is advantageous but not essential.
  • The ability to be at ease in a fast-paced, highly creative environment and be reactive to change.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 4+ years of design experience for a womenswear brand with excellent technical knowledge.
  • Strong with colour, fabric, and garment construction.
  • Excellent in communication, organisation, and time management skills.
  • Proactive, professional, flexible and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop and basic Excel.
  • Expertise in print design and print concept is preferable.
