Parkhaven Trust is looking for an experienced, values-led and commercially aware HR Business Lead to help us deliver the next stage of our development. This is a key role within the organisation, working directly with the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Team to lead excellent HR practice, strengthen our workforce, support confident management, and help create a healthy, inclusive and high-performing culture across Parkhaven.
Founded in 1888, Parkhaven Trust provides care, support and housing services for older and vulnerable adults from our services in Maghull, Sefton. Our mission is to provide exceptional care, support and housing that honours each person's story and maximises independence wherever possible. Parkhaven operates two purpose-built care homes, an extra care scheme, a specialist dementia day service and a supported housing scheme, all rated Good by CQC.
The HR Business Lead will play a central role in helping Parkhaven become an employer of choice. Working closely with managers, you will review staffing levels, improve recruitment and retention, support absence and performance management, and ensure colleagues are well-led, well-supported and able to do their best work.
You will provide trusted HR advice to the CEO, Executive Team and managers, while supporting complex employee relations casework, policy development, workforce reporting, recruitment, training, wellbeing, engagement and organisational change. As Parkhaven develops its future plans, including growth in housing, care and community services, you will help ensure our workforce, systems, culture and leadership capability are ready for that future.
We are looking for someone who combines professional HR expertise with warmth, judgement and practicality. You understand that good HR in a care and housing environment is about more than process. It is about enabling safe services, supporting compassionate leadership, building trust with colleagues, and helping managers make fair, confident and legally sound decisions.
You will bring emotional intelligence, credibility and a solution-focused approach, recognising that a strong colleague experience directly supports better care, better housing and better outcomes for the people Parkhaven serves.
- Experience in an HR Business Lead, HR Business Partner or similar senior HR role.
- Experience delivering a broad HR service across an organisation.
- Experience managing employee relations casework.
- Experience supporting managers with performance, absence, conduct and organisational change.
- Experience of policy development and workforce reporting.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Tact, diplomacy, emotional intelligence, sound professional judgement, and a proactive, solution-focused approach.
- Experience of working in care, social care, housing, supported living or the not-for-profit sector would be an advantage but is not essential.
You will be joining a charity with deep local roots, a strong reputation, a committed workforce and a clear strategic direction. You will have the opportunity to shape our people agenda, strengthen our culture, support future growth and make a visible difference to colleagues, residents, tenants, families and communities.
Candidates with experience as an HR Business Partner, Senior HR Manager, HR Manager, HR Director, People and Culture Manager, People Operations Manager, Employee Relations Manager or similar senior HR roles are encouraged to apply.
