University Arms is a 192-bedroom design‑led Hotel situated in the heart of Cambridge, United Kingdom. Overlooking Parker’s Piece is the Hotel’s quintessentially British Restaurant and Bar Parker’s Tavern, Library Lounge, and beautiful 272 square metre wood paneled Ballroom. Opened in 1834 as a Coaching Inn, University Arms is Cambridge’s oldest Hotel. It is now Cambridge's 'go to’ destination, alluring visitors with the promise of a sense of modern luxury.

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Chef de Partie to join our dynamic kitchen team. In this role, you will take responsibility for a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene. You’ll work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

The Duties:

  • Take ownership of a designated kitchen section (e.g., larder, grill, garnish, pastry).
  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes to the highest standards.
  • Maintain food quality, consistency, and portion control in line with brand standards.
  • Support menu development and contribute creative ideas.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, HACCP, and hygiene regulations.
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and minimising waste.
  • Train and mentor Commis Chefs within your section.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen team to deliver smooth service.

What Are We Looking For In You:

  • Experience as a Chef De Partie in a Four or Five‑Star or high‑end restaurant.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices.
  • Competent level of English spoken and written.
  • Must be available to work a varied schedule including early shifts.
