What Will You Be Doing
As Breakfast Chef, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of standards in the kitchen and in the execution and delivery of all dishes. You will work collaboratively with your team and assist in the cleanliness and upkeep of your section and the kitchen as a whole. Your tasks as Breakfast Chef will include, but will not be limited to:
- To create an exceptional breakfast experience for our guests.
- To maintain a clean and tidy kitchen with regular stock checks, labelling, audits, equipment checks, and adhering to all health and safety requirements.
- To manage and oversee the smooth running of your section.
- To ensure you and the junior chefs have a comprehensive understanding of the full menu offering.
- To ensure all dishes are prepared and created to the highest standard with the utmost care in presentation.
- To be innovative in your cooking style and to offer ideas on new dishes or specials that could enhance the menu.
- To be an ambassador for Parker's Tavern and University Arms as well as a leader who embodies our values and commitment to our teams.
- Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety procedures and food hygiene systems in place.
- Take on-the-job training for junior chefs.
- Follow the “Clean as you go” mindset and keep work areas and fridges tidy at all times (lead by example).
- Contribute to controlling costs, improving gross profit margins, and other departmental and financial targets.
- Report maintenance, hygiene, and hazard issues.
- Ensuring cleaning checklists are adhered to and conducting cleaning duties as required.
- Checking the quality of stock for freshness, weight, use by dates etc., and communicating issues to the Head Chef or Sous Chef in their absence.
What Are We Looking For In You
- Minimum 1-year experience at Chef De Partie level (ideally working breakfast).
- Minimum 1-year experience within the luxury hotel market or premium restaurant.
- Competent level of English spoken and written.
- Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices.
- Must be available to work a varied schedule including weekends, and bank holidays.
- Thorough knowledge of food products, recipes, and specific food preparation.
- Approachable person with a hands-on and can-do attitude.
- Can produce consistent service in line with company recipes and standards.
- Promotes effective teamwork with the whole kitchen to achieve high standards in all sections through communication and support.
