Build stronger brands. Develop a great team. Have a real say in where the business goes next. Parker Young is partnering with an established British FMCG business with a portfolio of specialist consumer brands to appoint a Head of Marketing. This is an opportunity to shape both the direction of the brands and the marketing team behind them. The business has a clear ambition: to put deeper consumer understanding, distinctive brand positioning and measurable commercial impact at the heart of its next chapter.
Reporting to the Managing Director and joining the senior leadership team, you’ll have the influence to turn that ambition into action.
The opportunity
You’ll own the marketing strategy, plan and budget, making clear choices about where to invest, what to prioritise and how success should be measured. Across the portfolio, you’ll sharpen brand positioning and bring greater consistency to how brands appear and communicate. You’ll balance long-term brand building with activity that delivers commercially today, using consumer, customer and performance insight to guide decisions. Innovation will be an important part of your remit. Working with Commercial, Technical and Operations, you’ll help turn consumer needs into stronger propositions, focused development plans and well-executed launches. You’ll also shape how digital, e-commerce, content and CRM work together, building the capability and measurement needed to improve marketing effectiveness.
At the centre of all this is your team. You’ll provide clear direction, coach and develop talent, and create an environment where people have the confidence and accountability to do their best work.
What you’ll bring
You’ll be an experienced marketing leader from a branded consumer or FMCG environment, ready to take ownership of a broad remit. We’d love to hear about your experience of:
- Building brand and portfolio strategies that deliver commercial results.
- Leading and developing teams across marketing disciplines.
- Turning consumer insight into better propositions, campaigns and innovation.
- Owning budgets and making investment decisions with a strong understanding of profitability.
- Developing digital, CRM and e-commerce activity with clear measures of success.
You’ll be comfortable contributing at Board level and getting closer to the detail when a problem needs solving. Clear in your decisions and collaborative in your approach, you’ll know how to bring people with you through change.
Why consider it?
You’ll have direct access to the Managing Director, a place on the senior leadership team and the scope to influence brand direction, innovation and business growth. For a marketer who enjoys building both brands and capability, this offers the chance to shape how a marketing function works and demonstrate the value it brings.
