Job Description
Our client is a leading business advisory firm with a market-leading Corporate Finance offering. Through continued growth, they are looking to hire a Director to help lead and grow their M&A Corporate Finance Advisory presence across the East Midlands.
Our client sees the East Midlands as a strategic growth region and is investing accordingly. This role is about building and shaping the proposition locally, not just executing deals within an existing structure. You'll have real autonomy to develop the market, build relationships across the region's PE, banking and professional adviser community, and put your own stamp on how the practice grows in Nottingham, Derby, Leicester and beyond.
If you're an Associate Director ready to make the step up, or a Director who has outgrown a firm with limited room to progress, this is a rare chance to take on a genuinely senior, high-visibility role in one of the most active and well-connected corporate finance markets outside London.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading and originating M&A mandates across the full deal lifecycle β sell-side and buy-side, MBOs, fundraising and strategic transactions β for mid-market, owner-managed and PE-backed businesses across the East Midlands.
- Playing a lead role in business development and deal origination, building your own network across intermediaries, private equity houses, banks, and professional services firms (legal, tax, wealth) in the region.
- Acting as a senior client-facing lead β building trusted relationships with business owners, management teams and investors from initial pitch through to completion.
- Developing and growing the East Midlands proposition β contributing directly to the firm's regional strategy, brand visibility, and market positioning.
- Managing, coaching and developing junior team members, building bench strength as the practice scales.
- Working closely with senior leadership and Partners across the wider national Corporate Finance team, collaborating on larger and cross-regional transactions.
What We're Looking For
- Proven Corporate Finance / M&A Advisory experience gained within a Big 4, top 10, mid-tier accountancy firm, or boutique corporate finance house.
- A track record of leading transactions (sell-side, buy-side, fundraising, MBO/MBI) in the SME/mid-market space, ideally Β£5mβΒ£150m deal value.
- Demonstrable business development and origination experience β this role needs someone who can build a network and win work, not just execute deals handed to them.
- ACA / ACCA / CF qualified (or equivalent) preferred.
- Strong existing relationships across the East Midlands or wider Midlands deal community β with banks, PE houses, intermediaries and professional advisers β are highly advantageous.
- Currently operating at Associate Director level and ready for a genuine step up, or already a Director/Senior Manager seeking a firm that offers real progression and the chance to shape a growing regional proposition.
- A commercially minded, entrepreneurial operator who wants ownership of a region, not just a seat within one.
Why Apply
- Genuine progression β this is a growth-focused hire into a firm actively investing in the region, not a replacement role.
- Real autonomy β you'll play a leading role in shaping the East Midlands strategy, not simply delivering against someone else's plan.
- Platform and brand β the credibility, deal flow and referral network of a Top 10 national firm, combined with the profile and ownership of a regional leadership role.
- Clear route to Partner for the right individual as the practice scales.
- Highly competitive package β salary, bonus and benefits reflective of the seniority and impact of the role.
If you have the ambition and track record to make this role a success, make your application now.
