The Role
As an Audit Quality & Technical Specialist, you will work closely with audit engagement teams and senior technical leadership to review, challenge, and enhance the execution of audit work.
Your responsibilities include:
- Reviewing audit procedures and documentation, particularly in regulated areas such as CASS and safeguarding
- Constructively challenging audit approaches to ensure compliance with regulatory expectations and internal standards
- Supporting and coaching engagement teams to implement improvements in audit quality
- Identifying recurring issues and areas requiring firm-wide action
- Contributing to internal projects focused on audit quality enhancement and risk management
- Collaborating with stakeholders across the firm to promote a culture of continuous improvement
We are also open to considering a blended role combining technical oversight with involvement in the delivery of CASS and safeguarding audits.
What We're Looking For
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience in audit and/or audit quality control
- Strong experience in CASS and safeguarding audits, with a sound understanding of applicable rules
- Good working knowledge of Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulations across financial services
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex information and identify key risk areas
- Confidence to challenge constructively and influence stakeholders at all levels
- High level of motivation with a genuine interest in driving audit quality improvements
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a flexible environment
- Professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA)
- Experience in a technical or audit quality role within a professional services environment
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
- Experience working across a diverse client base within financial services or related sectors
- Innovative mindset, with the ability to identify and implement improvements
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
