Here at Parker Meggitt, we’re recruiting for a Contracts Leader to join the Contracts Team, where you will cover the expanded scope of integrated SSO with respect to contact management and proposals. In this role you will lead in the proposal and Request For Approval (RFA) processes for new contracts, contract amendments or renewals, and will be responsible for all contractual aspects of the RFA and proposal. You’ll Minimise risk and add value to RFAs and proposals, ensure policies and procedures are followed, maintain engagement with all stakeholders and meet customer deadlines.
You’ll need to be comfortable making best-practice decisions on wide range of day-to-day commercial and contractual issues and be adept at working with cross-functional and globally located teams, whilst meeting tight deadlines and chasing colleagues for their actions where necessary.
Core Responsibilities
- Investigates and resolves claims, complaints and disputes elevated for resolution, and coordinates with relevant functions as applicable
- Manages existing contracts, identifies key contract milestones and takes appropriate action
- Determines our levels of compliance with existing contracts, advises colleagues on how to interpret, maximise the value and minimise the risk in our contracts
- Proficiently drafts and/or reviews contract language and contract amendments, writes and reviews letters and other formal documents
- Ensures Parker’s compliance with all applicable laws, codes of conduct, export compliance regulations, aerospace industry regulations and any other applicable legislation, making timely recommendations to implement needed actions
- Serves as a functional expert, provides leadership to others in department or to ad-hoc teams
- Suggests and helps implement process improvements
- Leads and/or supports complex negotiation with the customers, acts as the point of contact with the customer on assigned contracts and participates in customer meetings
- Participates in project teams to achieve any assigned business objectives, acting as the subject matter expert for contracts and/or the aerospace aftermarket segment
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Significant experience of contract management in the aerospace or related industry field
- Good level of knowledge of the commercial aerospace industry segment: structure, key players, requirements and trends
- Excellent English written-word skills used in formal communications and records of all types
- Comprehensive knowledge of typical contract structure and language plus foundational contract law principles
- Effective and proven negotiation skills
- Financial acumen; ability to understand, review and interpret complex pricing models and business cases and understand the linkage between profit, risk and terms & conditions
- Knowledge of complex legal and regulatory requirements related to contract administration that may include international compliance and government procurement
