We are working with an established and growing Building Management Systems (BMS) specialist who are looking to appoint an experienced BMS Project Manager to join their Project Team based in Tunbridge Wells. This is a key role responsible for managing the successful delivery of BMS and control system projects from handover through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards.
The successful candidate will have a strong technical understanding of BMS controls, with the ability to manage projects while working closely with engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
The Role:
- Managing BMS projects from initial handover through to commissioning and final completion
- Coordinating internal engineering teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients
- Reviewing project requirements, programmes, resources, and delivery strategies
- Supporting the design process, including control panel drawings, valve schedules, control strategies, and system graphics
- Managing procurement of equipment and services while ensuring compliance with project specifications
- Overseeing electrical installation activities and liaising with electrical teams and subcontractors
- Ensuring projects are delivered within agreed budgets and timelines
- Managing commercial aspects of projects, including valuations, progress reporting, variations, and final accounts
- Producing and maintaining accurate project documentation, including RAMS, O&M manuals, and technical records
- Attending client and coordination meetings to monitor progress and resolve issues
- Supporting commissioning activities, including system testing, fault finding, and verification of control strategies
- Ensuring company technical standards, quality procedures, and health & safety requirements are maintained throughout projects
About You:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience managing BMS / Building Controls projects
- Strong technical knowledge of BMS systems, controls, and commissioning processes
- Experience working within a project delivery environment
- Ability to understand technical drawings, control strategies, and project documentation
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage clients, engineers, and subcontractors
- A structured approach to planning, problem solving, and delivering projects successfully
Desirable Qualifications / Experience:
- BCIA Technical Certificate
- HNC/HND or relevant engineering qualification
- Electrical qualifications or BMS industry experience
- CITB SSSTS or SMSTS
- Electrical safe isolation training
- 3+ years post-apprenticeship experience within BMS, controls, or building services
