We are currently seeking an experienced M&E Engineer to join a well-established building services maintenance team to work across London and the South East. The role will involve working across high-end residential and office blocks carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on a wide range of mechanical and electrical building systems. This is a varied, hands-on position suited to someone confident working independently in plant rooms and building services environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical and electrical systems
- Diagnose and repair faults on HVAC and building services equipment
- Service and maintain Air Handling Units (AHUs) and Fan Coil Units (FCUs)
- Work on heating systems, including control interfaces and heating circuits
- Attend reactive breakdowns and restore systems to full working order
- Inspect, test, and maintain ventilation and cooling systems
- Work with pumps, valves, and associated mechanical plant
- Basic fault finding on electrical systems linked to HVAC equipment
- Complete service reports and job documentation accurately
- Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures on all sites
Key Systems Experience Required
- Air Handling Units (AHUs)
- Fan Coil Units (FCUs)
- Heating systems and interfaces
- Ventilation systems
- Chilled water / cooling systems
- Mechanical plant room equipment
- Basic Building Management Systems (BMS) awareness (desirable)
Requirements
- Proven experience in M&E, HVAC, or building services maintenance
- Strong background in mechanical systems (electrical knowledge beneficial)
- Ability to work independently on site
- Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
- Relevant qualifications in mechanical/electrical engineering (NVQ, City & Guilds, etc.) preferred
Desirable Experience
- Experience with office and residential building maintenance contracts
- Exposure to HIUs (Heating Interface Units)
- Knowledge of pressurisation units and pumps
- Previous mobile engineer or multi-site maintenance experience
