This is a varied mobile role covering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive breakdowns, remedial works, quoted works and new installations across a diverse portfolio of commercial and domestic properties. You'll work independently while also collaborating closely with our office team, estate managers, site staff and specialist subcontractors to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.

We believe in looking after our engineers. While contracted hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, you're not expected to spend unnecessary hours travelling. Depending on your work location, you'll generally leave site between 3:00pm and 4:00pm to begin your journey home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gas Maintenance & Servicing: Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), servicing, diagnostics and reactive repairs on both domestic and commercial gas systems. Service, maintain and repair boilers, warm air units, plant room equipment, radiant heaters and hot water systems. Carry out flue gas analysis and combustion performance checks. Replace or repair defective components, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and current industry standards.
  • Installations & Commissioning: Install boilers, heating systems, gas pipework, commercial plant and associated mechanical equipment. Commission new gas appliances in line with manufacturer instructions and current regulations. Carry out heating system upgrades, alterations and Gas Safe isolations. Complete quoted works and new installation projects to a high standard.
  • Fault Finding & Diagnostics: Diagnose faults across domestic and commercial gas appliances, controls and mechanical plant. Carry out effective repairs and identify the root cause of system failures. Produce clear reports detailing identified faults, recommended corrective actions and any further works required. Provide sufficient technical information and supporting photographs where required, enabling the office team to prepare accurate quotations.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all work complies with the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations, Building Regulations and company procedures. Maintain valid Gas Safe Registration and relevant domestic and commercial gas competencies. Complete Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) where required. Accurately document all work electronically, including job sheets, test results, certification and supporting information using the company's job management software. Submit completed paperwork promptly to ensure jobs can be processed without delay.
  • Customer Service: Deliver a professional, courteous service at all times. Liaise effectively with clients, tenants, estate managers, site staff and specialist subcontractors. Provide technical advice and recommendations for repairs, upgrades, replacements and system improvements. Represent the business professionally and help maintain our reputation through high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
  • Additional Mechanical Duties: Carry out work on pumps, valves, ventilation systems and general mechanical building services where required. Assist with system flushing, balancing and heating system upgrades. Support fellow engineers as part of a collaborative, multi-skilled engineering team.
