The Role As a Repairs Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a team of skilled trade operatives and subcontractors delivering responsive repairs and maintenance services.
You will provide hands-on leadership, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
This role would suit an experienced Supervisor or Senior Tradesperson with strong technical knowledge, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to motivate teams while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage a team of trade operatives and subcontractors delivering responsive repairs and maintenance works.
- Ensure all works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to agreed specifications.
- Monitor productivity, quality, and performance through regular site visits and inspections.
- Review completed works, ensuring accurate coding, variations, and supporting information.
- Liaise with planners, administrators, clients, and operational teams to maintain effective workflow.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety requirements, quality standards, and regulatory obligations.
- Conduct toolbox talks, site inspections, and support the implementation of RAMS.
- Assist with resource planning and coordination of reactive works, including out-of-hours requirements where required.
- Maintain strong relationships with residents, clients, operatives, and supply chain partners.
- Support the development of apprentices and junior team members.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
About You The successful candidate will have previous experience supervising repairs or maintenance works within a property services, housing, or construction environment.
You will ideally have
- Proven experience as a Repairs Supervisor, Maintenance Supervisor, or Senior Operative.
- Strong knowledge of responsive repairs and housing maintenance activities.
- Experience managing trade teams and monitoring performance.
- Good understanding of Schedule of Rates (SOR) codes and maintenance coding processes.
- Broad technical knowledge across multiple trades.
- Understanding of health & safety procedures, RAMS, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with clients, residents, and colleagues.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and mobile workforce management systems.
- CSCS card with SSSTS, SMSTS, IOSH Managing Safely, or equivalent supervisory qualification preferred.
