About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Digital Developer / Frontend Developer to join a Government agency on a 6-month contract.
The successful candidate will work within a mixed
Azure and AWS cloud environment , developing modern digital services that interact with internally developed APIs, platforms and search indexes.
You will work across the full software development lifecycle, from initial conception and requirements through to development, testing and deployment.
You will collaborate closely with product, design and technical teams to deliver accessible, high-quality digital solutions that meet user and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop responsive, accessible and high-quality user interfaces using
Next. js, React and Type Script .
- Collaborate with design and product teams to create intuitive and user-centred experiences.
- Develop frontend experiences backed by internally developed APIs and search indexes.
- Work across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through to deployment and maintenance.
- Participate in code reviews, testing and debugging to maintain high-quality software.
- Maintain and enhance existing applications, identifying and resolving technical issues.
- Write clear technical documentation and contribute to defining project requirements.
- Implement and maintain
CI/CD pipelines and automated testing processes.
- Work effectively within Agile delivery teams and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Keep up to date with emerging frontend technologies, development practices and industry standards.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience working as a
Frontend Developer, Digital Developer or in a similar role .
• Strong hands-on experience with
- React
- Next. js
- Type Script
- Java Script
- HTML
- CSS
- Experience developing responsive and accessible web applications.
- Experience working with APIs and integrating frontend applications with backend services.
- Familiarity with databases and search technologies, particularly
Elasticsearch and SQL-like databases.
- Good understanding of
Git and modern software development workflows.
- Experience working with cloud platforms and deployment strategies.
- Understanding of automated testing and CI/CD practices.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
- Experience working within
Agile development environments .
