We are working with an established Building Management Systems (BMS) specialist who are looking to add an experienced BMS Control Engineer to their Project Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a genuine BMS Controls Engineer to join a growing business, working on a variety of commercial projects from design through to commissioning and handover.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring BMS systems are installed, configured, commissioned, and operating correctly, working closely with Project Engineers, Project Managers, electricians, and subcontractors to deliver high-quality control solutions.

The Role

  • Supporting the delivery of BMS control projects from design through to completion
  • Carrying out BMS commissioning, testing, and fault finding
  • Completing field wiring checks, plant operational checks, and control panel testing
  • Verifying control strategies, software operation, and graphical displays
  • Supporting control system design including panel drawings, valve selections, control strategies, and graphics
  • Producing commissioning reports, technical documentation, and project records
  • Liaising with project teams, electrical teams, and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently
  • Identifying and reporting any issues that could impact project progress or completion
  • Maintaining accurate technical records and supporting the production of O&M documentation

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working within BMS controls, commissioning, or building controls engineering
  • Strong understanding of BMS systems, control strategies, and commissioning processes
  • Ability to fault find and diagnose control system issues
  • Good communication skills and a structured approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work independently while supporting wider project teams

Desirable Qualifications / Experience:

  • Completed engineering apprenticeship
  • BCIA Technical Certificate
  • HNC/HND/ONC or relevant electrical/control engineering qualification
  • Electrical safe isolation qualification
  • Health & Safety qualifications (CITB or equivalent)
