We’re working with a well-established, family-owned HVAC & refrigeration business who are looking for an experienced Refrigeration / Air Conditioning Engineer to join their growing team. This is a mobile field role covering service, maintenance, breakdown response, and installation work across a varied and well-established customer base. If you enjoy hands-on engineering, varied days, and being trusted to get the job done properly without micromanagement, this one hits the mark.
The Role
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdowns
- Fault finding across refrigeration, AC, and HVAC systems
- Installation and commissioning support (A/C, VRF/VRV systems)
- Working on cold rooms, chillers, split systems, display cabinets and pack systems
- Heat pumps, AHUs, MVHR and wider HVAC equipment
- Refrigerant handling including recovery, pressure testing and charging
- Completing accurate job reports (paper and digital)
- Working independently across a mobile patch
Systems You’ll Work On
- Commercial refrigeration systems (cold rooms, walk-in freezers, display cabinets)
- Split A/C systems
- VRF / VRV systems
- Chillers and remote condenser units
- Heat pump systems
- AHUs and ventilation systems
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in refrigeration / air conditioning engineering
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning (or equivalent)
- F-Gas Category 1 (2079)
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Confident working independently in the field
- Experience across both service and installation environments
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable (but not essential)
- IPAF / PASMA
- 18th Edition
- Chiller experience
- Heat pump exposure
- Industrial refrigeration background
