We are seeking a motivated and reliable Assistant Drainage Engineer to join our client's growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop a career in drainage engineering. The successful candidate will support senior engineers in diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing drainage systems across residential and commercial sites. This is a hands-on role that requires a willingness to learn, good work ethic, and a strong commitment to customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with unblocking sinks, toilets, and external drainage systems
- Supporting high-pressure water jetting and drain cleaning operations
- Helping carry out CCTV drain surveys and basic fault identification
- Assisting with minor drain repairs and excavation works
- Learning to identify and resolve drainage issues efficiently
- Providing good customer service while on-site
- Completing basic job reports and assisting with documentation
- Following all health and safety regulations at all times
Requirements
- Interest in drainage engineering or construction/utilities work
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
- Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential)
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, hardworking, and professional attitude
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Desirable Skills
- Previous experience in construction, plumbing, or labouring
