We specialize in providing services to sole traders, partnerships, LLPs, and Limited Companies in the York, Leeds, and Harrogate areas. Our firm offers a comprehensive payroll service, handling all aspects of payroll preparation, including RTI submissions and auto-enrollment. Additionally, we assist clients with bookkeeping, VAT returns, annual accounts, tax filing, and corporate tax returns. Known for our flexible and customer-focused approach, we strive to deliver excellent value and prompt financial services to our clients.
The Role
You will work as part of a close-knit team, supporting senior staff and managers with a varied portfolio of clients. The role offers hands-on experience across accounts, tax, and advisory work.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Preparation of management accounts
- Corporation tax computations and returns
- Preparation of VAT returns
- Personal tax returns for a portfolio of clients
- Assisting with client queries and HMRC correspondence
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience within an accountancy practice
- Studying towards ACA / ACCA / AAT (or equivalent)
- Good working knowledge of UK accounting standards
- Experience with software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or similar
- Good communication and time management skills
- Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
- Experience with IRIS, CCH, TaxCalc or similar practice software
- Client-facing experience
- Experience working with owner-managed businesses
