Position Summary

Location: Fareham
Hours: Full-time - Twilight shift with training on days

The Role

The Trainee Welder will be responsible for carrying out Electron Beam Welding (EBW) activities on precision capsule components and assemblies. The role involves working with very small parts, often using a microscope, and following established processes and procedures to ensure work is completed to the required quality standards. No welding experience? No problem. We will provide full training to help you build a specialist career as an Electron Beam Welder within the aerospace industry. Working within a highly structured manufacturing environment, you will interpret technical drawings, operate specialist welding equipment, inspect your own work, complete production documentation and support assembly activities as required. You will work with precision components, often using a microscope, while following detailed processes and quality standards to ensure every product meets specification.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Electron Beam Welding (EBW) equipment safely and efficiently
  • Weld precision components and assemblies to required quality standards
  • Inspect welded components and complete relevant quality documentation
  • Interpret technical drawings and manufacturing instructions
  • Build mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies in line with procedures
  • Conduct basic testing activities and maintain production information systems

Qualifications

  • Mechanical assembly experience gained within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with small precision components
